Tribus Brewing Company

When: July 31st, 2026

Where: 100 Raton Dr, Milford, CT

Tribus Brewing Company opened their taproom in Milford in 2018, the name coming from the three friends that founded the operation. They serve a wide variety of beers, focusing on IPAs, but with a decent selection of other styles, including lagers, sours, and dark beers. Nick and I went there on a pretty busy Friday after work and I was surprised by how hidden the location was, but also how large their taproom is. They have a large amount of outdoor seating, a spacious interior section, as well as a small arcade in rear of the facility. We were able to grab a few flights and get some incredibly large portions of food from the visiting food truck.

Chris: I really liked the aesthetic of Tribus and the open air option the taproom had with the garage doors. The arcade was a nice bonus as well as I believe breweries now have to do as much entertainment as possible. As we were leaving, a live musician was just setting up in the taproom, so I’m glad they are doing as much as they can to keep things interesting. When it comes to the beer at Tribus, I was not as impressed. My favorite of the bunch was their Tropical Punch Sour which was very sour and citrusy. Their Irish dry Stout was very standard, as were their two pilsner’s.

Nick: I also really liked the Tropical Punch. I wanted to take some home with me, but unfortunately they were out of the cans, so apparently other people like it as well. The other one that stood out to me was the Strawberry Seltzer. A lot more breweries have been doing seltzers, and this one had a really sweet flavor.
